Dr. Reddy’s Institute of Life Sciences (DRILS), a premier public-private research partnership based at the University of Hyderabad, is inviting applications for the position of Research Associate – Formulation. This role is designed for innovative scientists eager to master the complexities of advanced drug delivery, including liposomal and nanoparticle technologies.
Pioneering the Future of Drug Delivery
The selected Formulation Scientist will go beyond routine lab work, engaging in hypothesis-driven research to solve the pharmaceutical industry’s most pressing delivery challenges.
- Advanced Platforms: Developing Liposomal, Polymeric-based, and Nano-particulate formulations.
- Complex Biologics: Mastering the loading and stability of peptides, proteins, and nucleic acids.
- Technical Troubleshooting: Identifying bottlenecks in the development process and proposing scientific mitigations.
- Scaling Innovation: Moving novel ideas from small-scale literature concepts to masterable experimental techniques.
Who Should Apply?
The institute is seeking candidates who blend academic excellence with a “hands-on” industrial mindset.
| Criteria | Requirements |
| Education | M. Pharm, M. Sc. (Chemistry/Biochemistry), or Life Sciences degree. |
| Experience | 1+ year of industrial experience in Formulation R&D is highly preferred. |
| Characterization | Skills in DLS, Zeta potential, DSC, PXRD, and Microscopy (TEM/SEM). |
| Analytical | Proficiency in UPLC/HPLC and biophysical stability testing. |
| Soft Skills | Collaborative mindset and excellent scientific communication. |
Technical Expertise Areas
While experience in every area isn’t mandatory, candidates with a background in the following “subsets” will stand out:
- Sustained Release: Implants, depots, and in situ delivery systems.
- Purification: Expertise in TFF (Tangential Flow Filtration) and ultrafiltration.
- Synthetics: Polymer chemistry and microfluidics for nanoparticle synthesis.
- Biological Evaluation: In vitro cell line handling and in vivo animal disease models.
Application Roadmap
If you are ready to shoulder substantial formulation workloads and master new experimental techniques, follow these steps:
- Deadline: Submit by April 30, 2026.
- Email: Send your CV to hr@drils.org.
- Subject Line: Use the exact phrase “Formulation Lab”.
- Interview Process: Shortlisted candidates will undergo a two-stage process (Initial phone screening followed by a personal or digital interview).
