The Institute of Chemical Technology (ICT), Mumbai—originally founded in 1933 as UDCT and recognized as a premier deemed-to-be university for chemical technology, applied chemistry, and pharmacy—has issued an official notification inviting applications for two positions of Research Fellow / Project Associate. The positions are housed under an applied national initiative sponsored by the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India.
Project Scope & Core Objectives
The fellowship is tied to the central initiative: “Creation of Nodal Centers for Development and Production of Key Starting Materials, Intermediates and other Raw Materials required by the Health Care Sector,” under Principal Investigator Dr. Nitin Dnyaneshwar Arote.
The fellows will actively work on active pharmaceutical ingredient (API) and API-intermediate process route development, reaction condition optimization, and bench-to-pilot scale-up. The overarching technical objective is to establish robust domestic synthetic pathways that mitigate critical raw-material and starting-material import dependencies across the Indian healthcare supply chain.
