NCCS Pune Invites Applications for Project Associate-I and II Positions Across Extramural Research Projects

The BRIC-National Centre for Cell Science (NCCS)—an autonomous institution under the Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India, located within the Savitribai Phule Pune University Campus—has officially invited applications for multiple Project Associate positions on various extramural research projects on a purely temporary basis.
Position Details & Eligibility
- 1. Project Associate -I (b)
- Number of Posts: 01
- Project Title: Super-enhancer transcribed lncRNAs (SE-lncRNA) involved in glioblastoma tumorigenesis
- Principal Investigator (PI): Dr. Vidisha Tripathi
- Essential Qualification: Four years Bachelor’s Degree in Natural or Agricultural Sciences / Master’s Degree in Natural or Agricultural Sciences / BVSc / B. Pharm or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Technology, or Medicine from a recognized University or equivalent.
- Desirable Experience: Prior experience handling mammalian cell culture, transfections, knockdown screening, flow cytometry, RNA isolation, IPs, biochemical characterization of RNA-protein interactions, and bioinformatic analysis.
- Project Tenure: Up to 31/07/2029
- Monthly Emoluments: Rs. 30,000/- + HRA
- Age Limit: Maximum 35 years as on the closing date of application.
- 2. Project Associate-II
- Number of Posts: 01
- Project Title: Infection-driven hematopoiesis: molecular mechanisms governing stem cell fate, function, and memory
- Principal Investigator (PI): Dr. Prasad Abnave
- Essential Qualification: Master’s Degree in Natural or Agricultural Sciences / MVSc or bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Technology, or Medicine from a recognized University or equivalent, alongside 2 years of experience in Research and Development in Industrial/Academic Institutions or Science and Technology Organisations.
- Desirable Experience: Cell and Molecular Biology Techniques (cell culture, DNA/RNA extraction, PCR, Western Blotting, Flow Cytometry, Confocal Microscopy, Immunostaining), and experience handling mouse models and bacterial pathogens.
- Project Tenure: Up to 10/05/2029
- Monthly Emoluments: Rs. 28,000/- + HRA
- Age Limit: Maximum 35 years as on the closing date of application.
- 3. Project Associate-I
- Number of Posts: 01
- Project Title: Decoding IgE B Cell Evolution to Unlock Curative Strategies in Allergy
- Principal Investigator (PI): Dr. Pankaj Sharma
- Essential Qualification: Master’s Degree in Natural or Agricultural Sciences / MVSc or bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Technology, or Medicine from a recognized University or equivalent.
- Desirable Experience: Experience in immunology, molecular and cellular biology, mammalian cell culture, and/or genomic and multi-omic data analysis.
- Project Tenure: Up to 16/08/2029
- Monthly Emoluments:
- Rs. 31,000/- + HRA for scholars selected through National Eligibility Tests (CSIR-UGC NET including lectureship/GATE) or national level examinations conducted by Central Government Departments.
- Rs. 25,000/- + HRA for others.
- Age Limit: Maximum 35 years as on the closing date of application.
General Guidelines & Application Instructions
- Application Deadline: The last date of receipt of applications through the online Google Form is 12.10.2026.
- Application Mode: Candidates must apply strictly via the online Google Form link provided in the respective project advertisements. Separate forms must be submitted if applying for multiple positions.
- Mandatory File Naming: Uploaded PDF/Image files (size limit 1 MB per document) must be named following the convention:
(First Name_Last Name_Document Name). - Required Documents: Birth certificate, diploma degree, graduation degree, postgraduate mark sheet/certificate, passport-size photograph, caste certificate, non-creamy layer certificate (OBC), and physically handicapped certificate if applicable.
- Joining Protocol: Selected candidates must confirm and join within 30 days from the publication of the selection notification on the NCCS website, following in-person original document verification.
