CSIR-NCL, Pune, Seeks M.Sc. and B.Pharm Graduates for Project Associate Roles

The CSIR-National Chemical Laboratory (CSIR-NCL), a prestigious constituent of the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), has announced an online application process for two Project Associate-I positions. This is a prime opportunity for B.Pharm and M.Sc. graduates to join a CSIR-funded project.

The selected candidates will work on a sponsored project titled “Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients for Affordable Health Care (API-AHC)”. This initiative focuses on the development of catalysts and processes for creating essential pharmaceutical ingredients, offering a hands-on experience in industrial research.

Position Details

  • Post: Project Associate-I
  • Number of Positions: 2
  • Eligibility:
    • B.Pharm graduates.
    • M.Sc. in Organic Chemistry.
    • Graduates with a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering/Technology.
  • Stipend: The consolidated monthly stipend will be ₹31,000 + HRA for candidates who have qualified for national-level exams like NET or GATE. For other candidates, the stipend is ₹25,000 + HRA.
  • Age Limit: The upper age limit is 35 years, with relaxations provided for reserved categories and women as per government norms.

Application and Interview Process

The application window is open until August 25, 2025. Interested and eligible candidates must apply online through the NCL website at jobs.ncl.res.in.

Following the application deadline, a screening committee will shortlist candidates based on their qualifications and experience. The list of shortlisted candidates will be announced on the NCL website on August 26, 2025.

Online interviews for the shortlisted candidates are scheduled for August 29, 2025, at 10:00 AM. Interview links will be sent to the candidates via email.

This is a temporary engagement for an initial period of six months, which may be extended based on the project’s duration and the candidate’s performance. This role is a great stepping stone for young researchers looking to gain practical experience in chemical and pharmaceutical research.
