Openings for Pharmacy and Nursing Posts under the Ministry of AYUSH at NIUM, Bengaluru

The National Institute of Unani Medicine (NIUM), an autonomous organization under the Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India, is inviting applications for various posts to be filled on a Direct Recruitment or Deputation basis. The institute, located in Bengaluru, is a key center for postgraduate teaching, training, and research in the Unani System of Medicine.

Pharmacy Assistant

Posts: 1 (UR – Unreserved)
Pay Scale: Level-2 (Rs. 19,900 – 63,200) as per the 7th CPC.
Age Limit: Not exceeding 25 years.
Essential Qualifications:
- Intermediate or equivalent qualification.
- One year Unani Pharmacy certificate course OR 3 years of experience working as a Pharmacy Attendant in a Unani Pharmacy.
- Knowledge of computers.
Desirable: Knowledge of Hindi, Urdu, English, or Kannada.

Pharmacy Attendant

Posts: 1 (UR – Unreserved)
Pay Scale: Level-1 (Rs. 18,000 – 56,900) as per the 7th CPC.
Age Limit: Below 28 years.
Essential Qualifications:
- Matriculation (10th pass) or equivalent.
- Three years of experience in dispensing medicine at a reputed institution.
- Knowledge of Hindi or Urdu.

Nursing Officer

Posts: 1 (OBC)
Pay Scale: Level-7 (Rs. 44,900 – 1,42,400) as per the 7th CPC.
Age Limit: Not exceeding 30 years.
Essential Qualifications: A Bachelor of Science in Nursing or a Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery from an Indian Nursing Council (INC) recognized institute is required, along with relevant registration and experience in a hospital with a minimum of 25 beds.

Application Fee:
- Rs. 2,000 for General candidates.
- Rs. 1,600 for SC/ST candidates.
- Candidates with Disabilities (PwD) are exempt from the fee.
- The fee must be paid via a Demand Draft in favor of “The Director, National Institute of Unani Medicine, Bengaluru,” payable at Bengaluru.
