The Institute for Stem Cell Science & Regenerative Medicine (inStem), Bangalore, an autonomous institute under the DBT, is inviting online applications for a contractual position of Bridging Post Doctoral Fellow. This role is for a highly specific project involving fly genetics and metabolic studies.

Mandatory Essential Qualification & Experience

Candidates must meet all the following criteria:

Academic: M.Sc. in Biochemistry, Clinical Biochemistry, Biotechnology/Life Sciences.
Ph.D. Status: Must have submitted the Ph.D. thesis.
National Exam: Must have qualified for a national level exam, specifically NET-JRF.
Model System Expertise: Proven experience using Drosophila as a model system, with specific expertise in Drosophila haematopoiesis and wasp culturing.
Technique Expertise (Molecular/Bioinformatics): Experience in Bulk RNA sequencing analysis, executing insitu protocols (such as FISH), and using molecular biology approaches.
Technique Expertise (Analytical): Experience in targeted isotope labelling mass spectrometry.
Technique Expertise (Imaging/Sorting): Experience in confocal microscopy and FACS (Flow Cytometry).

Job Description and Key Focus

The successful candidate will work on the project: “Metabolic regulation of hematopoiesis in Drosophila larvae.”

The candidate must have substantial experience in handling Drosophila Genetics.
Preference will be given to those with hands-on experience in confocal microscopy, flow cytometry (FACS), and liquid chromatography–mass spectrometry (LC-MS).
