
Gujarat Biotechnology University (GBU), the world’s first dedicated biotechnology university located near GIFT City, Gandhinagar, is seeking a Senior Project Assistant. This role is part of a high-impact research project funded by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) focusing on cardiovascular health and advanced transcriptomics.
1. Project Overview
The research aims to tackle the complexities of cardiovascular diseases by studying unstable atherosclerotic plaques.
- Project Title: “Deciphering the cellular heterogeneity in unstable atherosclerotic plaques using single cell RNA sequencing and spatial whole transcriptomics for developing RNA based prognostic markers.”
- Principal Investigator: Dr. Surya Ramachandran.
- Focus Area: Medical Biotechnology and Clinical Research.
2. Position Details & Eligibility
This is a purely temporary position that co-terminates with the completion of the ICMR project.

Qualification Requirements:
- Minimum: MSc in Biotechnology or Life Science subjects with at least 60% marks.
- Experience: A minimum of one year of research experience is mandatory.
- Desirable: Prior experience working with human clinical samples and scRNA (single-cell RNA) techniques is highly preferred.
