
The Institute of Liver and Biliary Sciences (ILBS), a premier autonomous super-specialty hospital under the Govt. of NCT of Delhi, has announced a high-impact research opportunity. The institute is inviting eligible candidates for a Walk-in Interview on January 17, 2026, for the position of Senior Research Fellow (SRF).
This fellowship is part of a prestigious translational research project funded by the Ministry of AYUSH, aimed at bridging the gap between traditional Ayurvedic wisdom and modern molecular medicine.
Project Overview
The project, titled “Evaluation of hepatoprotective efficacy and underlying molecular mechanism of Ayurvedic formulations in experimental animal models of non-alcoholic fatty liver diseases,” focuses on finding scientific evidence for how Ayurvedic treatments can combat Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease (NAFLD).
The research is conducted under the supervision of Dr. Dinesh Mani Tripathi, Associate Professor and Co-PI at ILBS.
Candidate Requirements & Eligibility
ILBS is looking for candidates with a strong background in pharmacology and life sciences who possess technical expertise in animal handling and molecular biology.
- Essential Qualifications: * A mandatory NET/GATE or equivalent National Level Test qualification.
- M. Pharm / M.S. Pharm in Pharmacology OR
- M.Sc. in Biomedical Sciences, Life Sciences, Physiology, Biochemistry, or Biotechnology with a minimum of 2 years of research experience.
- Desirable Skills: Candidates with over 60% marks in their Post Graduation and specific experience in in vivo (animal) physiology and pharmacology studies will be preferred.
- Age Limit: 35 Years.
Job Responsibilities
The selected Fellow will be involved in a multi-disciplinary workflow including:
- Animal Modeling: Developing and handling Mice/Rat models for liver disease.
- Molecular Analysis: Processing biological samples to study gene and protein expression.
- Advanced Cell Culture: Working with primary hepatic cells and 3D organoids.
- Pharmacology: Investigating the Pharmacodynamics (PD) and Pharmacokinetics (PK) of herbal compounds.
- Scientific Communication: Compiling data and writing manuscripts for high-impact journals.
Remuneration and Tenure
- Monthly Stipend: ₹35,000 + 24% HRA (Totaling ₹43,400 per month).
- Duration: Initially for 12 months or until the completion of the project.
