BRIC-THSTI Recruitment 2026: Multiple Research Vacancies in Pulmonary Disease & Virology

The Translational Health Science and Technology Institute (THSTI), a prestigious constituent of the Biotechnology Research and Innovation Council (BRIC) under the Department of Biotechnology, has announced several high-level research openings. The institute is seeking dedicated life sciences professionals for projects focused on lung fibrosis and innovative drug repositioning for the Chandipura virus.

These roles offer a unique opportunity to engage in translational research, moving scientific concepts from the lab into products that improve human health.

Available Positions & Project Details

1. Project Technical Support-III (Pulmonary Research)

Project Title: Unraveling fibrosis-dependent circular RNA and proteomic perturbations in pulmonary disease.
Principal Investigator (PI): Dr. Samrat Chatterjee.
Emoluments: ₹28,000/- per month + HRA.
Walk-in Interview Date: 19 February 2026.
Qualifications: M.Sc./M.Tech in Life Sciences OR B.Sc./B.Tech with 3 years of post-qualification experience.
Key Skills: Cell line culture, mice model handling, RNA isolation, RT-PCR, Western Blotting, and ELISA.

2. Project Research Scientist-I (Virology)

Project Title: Innovative drug repositioning for Chandipura virus: A dual-action approach for viral inhibition and neuroinflammation reduction.
PI: Dr. Tanvi Agrawal.
Emoluments: ₹56,000/- per month + HRA.
Walk-in Interview Date: 20 February 2026.
Qualifications: Post-graduation in Life Sciences with at least one first-author publication in a PubMed-indexed journal.
Key Skills: Handling live viruses, mammalian cell culture, and in-vivo drug testing.

3. Project Technical Support-III (Virology)

Project Title: (Same as above – Chandipura virus drug repositioning).
PI: Dr. Tanvi Agrawal.
Emoluments: ₹28,000/- per month + HRA.
Walk-in Interview Date: 20 February 2026.
Qualifications: Post-graduation in Life Sciences OR Graduation with 3 years of experience.
Key Skills: Virological assays and molecular biology techniques.

General Terms & Selection Process

Age Limit: Maximum 35 years (Relaxations apply for SC/ST/OBC/PwBD/Ex-servicemen as per Govt. norms).
Nature of Post: Short-term contractual positions based on project tenure and performance.
