
The Indian Veterinary Research Institute (IVRI), a landmark institution for livestock research since 1889, has announced an opening for a Project Research Scientist II (Non-medical). This high-impact role is part of an ICMR-sponsored national initiative to strengthen high-risk pathogen laboratories (BSL3/4) and maintain inter-sectoral outbreak response readiness.
Role & Compensation
- Position: Project Research Scientist II (Non-medical)
- Monthly Remuneration: ₹67,000 + HRA
- Nature of Appointment: Contractual (temporary and co-terminus with the project)
- Age Limit: Maximum 40 years
Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must possess one of the following educational backgrounds:
- Post Graduate Degree: Including integrated PG with 3 years of post-qualification experience, or a PhD.
- Engineering (IT/CS): A 4-year Graduate degree with 3 years of post-qualification experience.
Key Competencies (Desirable)
The institute is looking for specialists with hands-on experience in:
- Biosafety: Handling highly pathogenic viral agents in BSL2 and BSL3 facilities.
- Molecular Biology: Pathogen detection via Real-time PCR, recombinant DNA technology, and cell culture.
- Technical Literacy: Sound knowledge of data mining and advanced computer applications.
