The National Chemical Laboratory (NCL), Pune, a premier laboratory under the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), is seeking a high-caliber Senior Project Associate. This role is uniquely positioned at the intersection of scientific knowledge and digital technology, focusing on the modernization of the laboratory’s research archives.
Project & Role Overview
The position is part of a sponsored institutional project aimed at digitizing and enhancing NCL’s vast scientific knowledge base.
- Project Title: Advancement of CSIR-NCL’s Digital Archives
- Division: Knowledge Resource Center (Library)
- Focus Area: Full-stack web development and digital repository management.

Educational & Experience Requirements

| Master’s / Integrated Masters in Pharmaceutical, Natural, or Agricultural Sciences (or Bachelor’s in Engg/Tech/Medicine). | 3 Years in R&D, Industrial/Academic Institutions, or S&T services. |
| Doctoral Degree (Pharma/Science) or Master’s in Engineering/Technology. | 2 Years in R&D, Industrial/Academic Institutions, or S&T services. |
Technical Skill Requirements
The candidate must be a proficient developer capable of managing a modern digital ecosystem:
- Operating System: High command of Ubuntu (Linux).
- Frontend: HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (ES6+), and frameworks like React.js, Angular, or Vue.js.
- Backend: Node.js, Python (Django/Flask), or Java Spring Boot.
- Database: PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or MySQL.
- Specialized Tools: Experience with DSpace, Omeka, or ArchivesSpace is highly desirable.
Emoluments & Age Limit
- Consolidated Stipend: Rs. 42,000/- per month + House Rent Allowance (HRA).
- Age Limit: Maximum 40 years as of the application date.
