
The Biotechnology Research and Innovation Council (BRIC) and the Regional Centre for Biotechnology (RCB) have opened applications for the prestigious i3c BRIC-RCB PhD Programme in Biosciences. This nationally integrated program brings together 13 premier autonomous institutes, RCB, and ICGEB to foster a globally competitive ecosystem for scientific discovery and indigenous technology development.
The i3c Framework: Coursework & Immersion
The i3c program is designed to move beyond traditional classroom learning, emphasizing field experience and interdisciplinary collaboration.
- Foundation Phase: All scholars begin with one semester of physical coursework at RCB, Faridabad.
- Field Immersion: A unique 3-month field immersion program follows, allowing researchers to observe real-world challenges before heading to their respective labs.
- Research Phase: Students complete their doctoral research at their chosen BRIC+ institution, utilizing world-class facilities and advanced platform technologies.
Eligibility Tracks
The program offers a total of 75 seats, categorized into two distinct entry pathways:

| Track I (70 Seats) | Master’s or 4-year Bachelor’s in S&T, or MBBS. Must have a 5-year valid national fellowship (DBT-JRF, CSIR-JRF, UGC-JRF, ICMR-JRF, etc.). |
| Track II (5 Seats) | MBBS or B.Tech/B.E. in non-biological sciences. 60% aggregate marks required. Age limit: 30 years. |
Selection Timeline & Key Dates
Candidates are selected through a rigorous dual-interview process.
