IIT Kharagpur Invites Applications for Project Assistant Role in DST-Funded Covalent Inhibitor Research

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur has issued an official recruitment notification inviting applications from qualified graduates in Pharmacy, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, and Nanoscience for the post of Project Assistant (Nano Fabrication). The selected candidate will contribute to an advanced research project titled “Reaction Based Screening of Efficient Hit to Lead Discovery of Covalent Inhibitors (BLI),” sponsored by the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India.

Project Overview and Academic Opportunity

Administered under the Department of Nano Science and Technology, the project is spearheaded by Principal Investigator (PI) Pragati Kishore Prasad. Candidates joining the project will gain hands-on exposure to cutting-edge drug discovery methodologies, specifically reaction-based screening strategies and the evaluation of covalent inhibitors.

In addition to project work, IIT Kharagpur allows appointed project assistants to register for regular MS or Ph.D. programs at the institute, provided they meet the standard admission requirements established by the university.

Consolidated Fellowship: Up to ₹20,000 per month, commensurate with the applicant’s qualifications and practical research experience.
