The BRIC-Institute of Life Sciences (BRIC ILS), Bhubaneswar—an autonomous institute under the Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India—has invited applications from eligible Indian Nationals for various positions under the project titled “Exploring the marine ecosystems for novel bioresources with human health and industrial significance.”
Project Duration & General Information
- Project Duration: Up to 31.03.2027 or the completion of the project as per Government of India orders, based on annual performance appraisal.
- Nature of Position: Purely temporary and co-terminus with the project.
- Interview Mode: Walk-in interview (No TA/DA will be paid for attending).
Position Details & Eligibility Criteria
1. Project Scientist – I
- Number of Posts: 01
- Upper Age Limit: 35 years
- Remuneration: ₹56,000/- per month + 18% HRA
- Essential Qualifications: Doctoral degree in science or a Master’s degree in Engineering or Technology from a recognized university or equivalent.
- Desirable Qualifications: Completed Ph.D. in any field of life sciences with experience in bioinformatics and analysis of NGS datasets. Candidates with relevant experience and publications in peer-reviewed journals are encouraged to apply.
2. Senior Research Fellow / Senior Project Associate
- Number of Posts: 01
- Upper Age Limit: 35 years
- Remuneration: ₹42,000/- per month + 18% HRA
- Essential Qualifications: M.Sc. / M.Tech / M.Pharm / M.V.Sc. or equivalent qualification in Life Sciences or allied subjects (Biochemistry / Biotechnology / Virology / Bioinformatics / Computational Biology / Microbiology, etc.) with a minimum of 55% aggregate marks (relaxation given as per GoI guidelines) and 2 years of research experience. Preference will be given to candidates qualified in national-level entrance tests (NET/GATE/GPAT). Non-NET/GATE candidates will receive fellowships as per DST guidelines.
- Desirable Qualifications: More than two years of research experience in mammalian cell culture, drug screening, bioprospecting, metabolite extraction, and mass-spectrometry.
3. Technician
- Number of Posts: 01
- Upper Age Limit: 30 years
- Remuneration: ₹20,000/- per month + 18% HRA
- Essential Qualifications: B.Sc. or a 3-year diploma in Science, Engineering, and Technology.
- Desirable Qualifications: Experience with the Linux operating system and data analysis.

- Date & Time: 5th October 2026, 10:30 AM onwards (Candidates should report on or before 10:00 AM; entry closes strictly after 10:15 AM).
