NIPER Raebareli Invites Applications for Junior Research Assistant Position Under UP-CST Sponsored Anti-Alzheimer’s Research Project

The National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research, Raebareli (NIPER-R)—an autonomous institute of national importance under the Department of Pharmaceuticals, Ministry of Chemicals & Fertilizers, Government of India—has issued an official recruitment notification. Applications are invited for a temporary research position under a research project sponsored by the Council of Science and Technology, Uttar Pradesh (UP-CST).

Project and Position Overview

Project Title: “Exploration of multi-targeted Novel Aza-/Thia-heterocycles as selective Acetylcholinesterase (AChE) and β-Secretase (BACE1) Inhibitors: A systematic Investigation towards the development of Anti-Alzheimer’s agents”
Designation: Junior Research Assistant (JRA) – 01 Post
Consolidated Salary: ₹25,000/- per month
Duration: Initially for one year, extendable up to the project’s completion based on satisfactory performance.
Residency Requirement: Candidates must be residents of Uttar Pradesh.

Qualification and Eligibility Criteria

Essential Qualifications:
- MS Pharm, M.Pharm, or M.Tech in Pharmacology, Pharmacology & Toxicology, Regulatory Toxicology, Biotechnology, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, or Medicinal Chemistry; OR
- MVSc in Pharmacology, Pathology, or Biotechnology; OR
- M.Sc. in Life Sciences, Neuroscience, Biochemistry, Pharmacology, Toxicology, or Organic Chemistry.
- Candidates must have secured at least 6.5 CGPA on a 10-point scale or 60% aggregate marks.
Desirable Skills: Qualification in GPAT, GATE, or NET, alongside hands-on research experience in related areas such as animal handling, enzyme-based assays, cell culture, and molecular biology techniques.
Age Limit: Maximum 28 years (upper age limit relaxable up to 5 years for SC/ST/OBC, women, and physically handicapped candidates as per Government of India norms).
