BHU Research Associate Recruitment 2026: CSIR Project in Biotechnology & Chemistry

Applications are invited from eligible candidates for the temporary position of Research Associate (RA) under a CSIR-sponsored research project entitled “Structural and functional insights on novel plant β-galactosidase and its immobilization on nanomaterials towards their ultrasensitive biosensor applications.”

The initiative is sanctioned under the CSIR Emeritus Scientist Scheme (CSIR Ref: 21/1179/25/EMR-II, dated 21.11.2025; BHU Project Code: P-25/0887) and will be carried out at the School of Biotechnology, Institute of Science, Banaras Hindu University (BHU), Varanasi. The position is temporary and co-terminus with the duration of the project.

Eligibility Criteria

Essential Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in Biotechnology, Plant Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, or Protein Chemistry.
- M.Sc. in Biotechnology, Plant Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, or Biochemistry with First Division (minimum 60% aggregate marks).
- Documented research background in enzyme technology, food chemistry, nanomaterials, or biosensors.
Desirable Experience:
- Hands-on proficiency in enzyme purification workflows, immobilization techniques on nanostructured materials, or biosensor fabrication.
- Research contributions evidenced by publications in Q1/Q2 SCI-indexed journals.
