CSIR-IMTech Recruitment 2026: Project Associate Openings Under Phenome India Health Cohort Knowledgebase

The CSIR – Institute of Microbial Technology (IMTech), Chandigarh, a national laboratory under the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India, has announced an online recruitment drive for the contractual engagement of project staff.

Applications are invited from eligible candidates across Pharmaceutical, Biological, Medical, and Engineering backgrounds for the position of Project Associate-I under the flagship sponsored initiative “Phenome India – CSIR Health Cohort Knowledgebase” (Project Code: HCP47).

Eligibility Criteria

• Minimum Educational Qualifications & Experience:
  • Master’s / Integrated Master’s degree in Natural Sciences, Agricultural Sciences, Pharmaceutical Sciences, MVSc, or Animal SciencesOR
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Technology, or Medicine from a recognized University along with 3 years of R&D experience in industrial, academic, or scientific institutionsOR
  • Master’s / Integrated Master’s degree in Engineering or Technology from a recognized UniversityOR
  • Doctoral degree (Ph.D. / MD / MS) in Science / Pharma from a recognized University along with 2 years of R&D experience in scientific and technological organizations.
• Age Limit:
  • Maximum 40 years as of the closing date.
  • Relaxation: Up to 5 years for SC/ST/PwBD/Women candidates, and 3 years for OBC candidates.
• Important Note: Candidates awaiting final results are not eligible to apply.

Desirable Profile & Role Expectations

• Technical Competencies:
  • Hands-on proficiency in Python or R programming for handling large-scale biological cohorts.
  • Experience designing biological databases, interactive visualization dashboards, and building custom APIs for Large Language Models (LLMs).
  • Familiarity with modern frontend web frameworks.
• Primary Responsibilities:
  • Extensive travel for clinical cohort sample collection.
  • Operational handling of LC-MS instrumentation to execute high-throughput proteomics and metabolomics sample analysis.
