IIT-BHU Invites Applications for ICMR-Funded Project Research Scientist-I Position in Translational Nanomedicine

Applications have been officially invited for the post of Project Research Scientist-I (Non-Medical) under an Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) funded project based at the School of Biomedical Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology (BHU). The project aims to advance existing technologies to the clinical stage through close collaboration with specialized clinicians and patient-derived pathogens.
Position & Emoluments Summary
- Post Name: Project Research Scientist-I (Non-Medical).
- Monthly Emoluments: Rs. 56,000/- per month plus HRA (as per Varanasi rules), with increments provided after completing every two years.
- Engagement Tenure: The position is purely temporary. It is initially offered for one year and can be extended up to three years based on the candidate’s performance. Candidates cannot claim a permanent position upon contract completion.
- Age Limit: Maximum 35 years.
- Place of Work: Research Laboratory of Dr. Pradip Paik, Translational Nanomedicine for Therapeutic Applications, School of Biomedical Engineering, IIT-BHU. Candidates must also be flexible to travel for collaborative research work with other Indian research institutes, hospitals, and clinicians as required.
Key Research Areas & Requirements
- Research Domain: Health care, therapeutic applications of nanomaterials and nanomedicine for infectious diseases, treatment of microbial infections, and cancer treatment.
- Technical Scope: Hands-on experience with in vitro and in vivo work, along with working experience involving hospital-derived pathogens.
Minimum Qualifications Required
- Educational Background & Experience:
- Postgraduate degree (M.Sc./M.Tech.) in 1st Class with at least 5 years of research experience; OR
- Postgraduate degree (M.Sc./M.Tech.) in 2nd Class along with a Ph.D. and commendable research publications.
- Publication Track Record: Candidates must have at least five research publications directly relevant to the specified area of research.
