NBRC Invites Applications for Project Associate-I Position on SERB-Funded Research

The National Brain Research Centre (NBRC), an autonomous institute of the Department of Biotechnology, has announced an opening for a Project Associate-I (Project) position. The role is a part of a SERB-funded research project focused on a key brain-related disorder.

This is a valuable opportunity for young researchers to work at an “Institution of Excellence” with ongoing research programs on fundamental brain functions. The selected candidate will be involved in the project titled “Role of PI3K/Akt Signaling in Spinocerebellar Ataxia-3 in Drosophila Model,” under the guidance of Principal Investigator, Dr. M. Dhruba Singh.


Position and Eligibility Details

  • Post: Project Associate-I
  • Number of Positions: 1
  • Essential Qualification: A Master’s degree in Natural or Agricultural Sciences, or an M.V.Sc., or a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Technology, or Medicine from a recognized university, with a minimum of 60% marks.
  • Desirable Qualification: Experience in basic molecular biology techniques and with Drosophila handling is preferred.
  • Age Limit: The maximum age is 35 years as of the application deadline.
  • Fellowship:
    • ₹31,000 + 8% HRA per month for candidates who have qualified for a national-level examination (e.g., CSIR-UGC-NET, GATE, DBT/ICMR-JRF).
    • ₹25,000 + 8% HRA per month for candidates without such qualifications.
  • Tenure: The tenure is for one year, renewable for another year based on performance. The position is co-terminus with the project.

Application Process

Interested candidates must submit a hard copy of their application, along with a CV and self-attested copies of certificates, to the NBRC office.

  • Application Fee: A Demand Draft of ₹100 must be drawn in favor of the National Brain Research Centre.
  • Submission Deadline: The application must be received no later than August 28, 2025.
  • Submission Address: Administrative Officer (Academics), National Brain Research Centre, Nainwal Mode, Gurugram-122 052 (Haryana).

Only shortlisted candidates will be called for an interview. No TA/DA will be provided for attending the interview.
