Gujarat Biotechnology University Seeks Project Associate-II for DBT-Funded Research

The Gujarat Biotechnology University (GBU), a premier research institution focused on excellence and innovation in biotechnology, has announced a new opening for a temporary research position. Applications are invited for the post of Project Associate-II to work on a specialized project funded by the Department of Biotechnology (DBT).

This is an excellent opportunity for aspiring researchers to join a project at the world’s first Biotechnology University. The selected candidate will be working on a project titled “Early Detection of Fungal Cereal-Killer with Phyto-Electrophysiology- Based Machine Learning,” under the guidance of Principal Investigator, Dr. Archana Kumari.

Position and Eligibility

Post: Project Associate-II

Minimum Educational Qualifications: A minimum of an M.Sc. or M.Tech. in any branch of Biology, or an M.Sc. in Natural or Agricultural Sciences from a recognized university. Candidates must have at least two years of research experience in academia or industry.
Desirable Skills: The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in bioinformatics, image analysis, and plant early signaling, particularly electrophysiology. Knowledge of routine molecular biology techniques, such as gene isolation, cloning, and expression, is also a significant advantage.

Consolidated Emoluments

The selected candidate will receive a consolidated monthly salary along with HRA:

₹35,000 + 27% HRA: For candidates who have qualified for national-level examinations like GATE, CSIR/UGC-NET, or an equivalent.
₹31,000 + 27% HRA: For candidates who do not possess the aforementioned qualifications.
