
The CSIR-National Chemical Laboratory (CSIR-NCL) in Pune, a premier research and development organization, has announced openings for four temporary positions of Project Associate-II. The positions are for a sponsored project titled “Optimization of the Small Molecule Hemoglobin Modulators as a Treatment Strategy for Sickle Cell Anemia.”
This is an excellent opportunity for qualified professionals to work on a critical project aimed at developing therapeutic strategies for a major health disorder. The engagement will be on a temporary basis, initially for a period of six months.
Position Details and Eligibility
The four positions are divided into two main categories:
1. Project Associate-II (3 Posts)
- Essential Qualifications: A Master’s/Integrated Master’s in Life Sciences OR a Bachelor’s in Engineering/Technology with two years of relevant experience.
- Desirable Qualifications: Experience in protein purification, cell cultures, organoid development, stem cell culture, or MD simulations and AI/ML modeling.
- Age Limit: 35 years (with age relaxation for reserved categories).
- Emoluments: ₹35,000 + HRA for NET/GATE-qualified candidates; ₹28,000 + HRA for others.
2. Project Associate-II (1 Post)
- Essential Qualifications: A Master’s/Integrated Master’s in Chemical Sciences with two years of relevant experience OR a Master’s/Integrated Master’s in Engineering/Technology.
- Desirable Qualifications: Experience in total/organic synthesis and a sound knowledge of NMR.
- Age Limit: 35 years (with age relaxation for reserved categories).
- Emoluments: ₹35,000 + HRA for NET/GATE-qualified candidates; ₹28,000 + HRA for others.

- Application Deadline: The online application must be submitted by August 22, 2025.
- Shortlisting Notification: The list of shortlisted candidates will be notified on the NCL website on August 28, 2025.
- Online Interview: Interviews for the shortlisted candidates will be conducted online on September 1, 2025, from 10:30 AM onwards. The URL link will be shared with candidates via email.
No TA/DA will be provided for attending the interview. Candidates must be prepared to join immediately upon receiving the offer of engagement.
