
The National Institute of Food Technology Entrepreneurship and Management (NIFTEM), an apex body under the Ministry of Food Processing Industries, Government of India, has announced an opening for a Quality Assurance Manager / Project Scientist. This position is for the Fortification Innovation Hub Quality Assurance Manager/ Project Scientist project. The role is temporary, with an initial duration of six months.
Position and Eligibility Details

- Number of Positions: 1
- Salary: A consolidated emolument of ₹48,000 + 8% HRA per month.
- Age Limit: The maximum age is 45 years. Age relaxation applies as per Government of India rules.
- Essential Qualifications: A Master’s degree in Food Technology, Food Science and Nutrition, Microbiology, Analytical Chemistry, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, or a related field.
- Desirable Experience:
- 3-5 years of experience in food testing, quality assurance, or manufacturing.
- Familiarity with quality systems like ISO:17025:2017 and ISO:9001:2018.
- Experience in NABL-accredited labs and conducting external food safety/quality audits.
- Strong communication skills in both English and Hindi.
Roles and Responsibilities
The selected candidate will be responsible for implementing and training on QA/QC systems for fortified rice, providing technical support to rice millers and manufacturers, and developing technical SOPs for certification. The role also involves contributing to documentation, reporting, and monitoring project progress.
