Sun Pharma Hiring IP Prosecution Manager: Opportunity for PhD & M.Pharm Graduates

Sun Pharma, a leading global pharmaceutical company, is seeking an experienced Manager – IP Prosecution for its Research & Development facility in Tandalja, Baroda. This key position involves managing the intellectual property aspects of the company’s product portfolios.

Key Responsibilities

The selected candidate will be responsible for overseeing the entire intellectual property lifecycle for both new chemical entities (NCEs) and branded products. This includes:

Portfolio Management: Strategic management of the IP portfolio, including continuous tracking of competitors’ activities.
Patent Analysis: Conducting Freedom to Operate (FTO) analyses to ensure new products do not infringe on existing patents. The role also involves performing validity analyses of competitor patents.
Legal & Commercial Support: Providing IP support for out-licensing projects and reviewing a variety of legal agreements, such as Confidentiality Disclosure Agreements (CDAs) and Material Transfer Agreements (MTAs).
Due Diligence: Performing comprehensive IP due diligence for new product and technology in-licensing opportunities.
New Product Identification: Generating new project ideas and identifying potential in-licensing opportunities for APIs and formulations.

Candidate Profile

Qualification: A Ph.D. in Pharmacy or a Master’s in Pharmacy with a specialization in Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Pharmaceutics, or Pharmacology is required.
Experience: The position calls for a professional with significant experience, specifically 10 to 15 years in the relevant field.
Skills: Strong knowledge of patent drafting and prosecution is essential. A formal certification in patent law is highly preferred and will be considered an advantage.
Location: The role is based at the company’s R&D center in Tandalja, Baroda.
