SJRI Seeks Research Scientist for ICMR-Funded Lung Disease Project

St. John’s Research Institute (SJRI) is currently accepting applications for a Project Research Scientist I (Non-medical) in a temporary position located in Bangalore. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a crucial ICMR-funded project focused on the epidemiology of interstitial lung diseases (ILDs) in India. The study aims to better understand the risk factors, treatment, and outcomes of these complex conditions, which may differ significantly from other parts of the world.

Position and Requirements

  • Post: Project Research Scientist I (Non-medical)
  • Number of Vacancy: One
  • Salary: A consolidated monthly salary of ₹72,800.
  • Age Limit: The maximum age is 35 years.
  • Essential Qualifications: You must have a First Class Post Graduate Degree, including integrated PG degrees, or a Second Class Post Graduate Degree with a Ph.D..
  • Experience: The position is open to both freshers and experienced candidates.
  • Language Skills: The role requires strong communication skills, with fluency in Kannada, English, Hindi, Telugu, and Tamil being highly preferred for patient interaction.

Roles and Responsibilities

The selected candidate will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including:

  • Communicating with patients and facilitating informed consent.
  • Collecting and entering data from interviews and questionnaires into CRF/eCRF (Case Report Form/Electronic Case Report Form).
  • Maintaining accurate records of radiological and other clinical data.
  • Coordinating with internal teams (radiology, immunology, pathology) and the project’s nodal center.
  • Handling all project documentation, including submissions to the Institutional Ethics Committee (IEC).
  • Scheduling and coordinating patient follow-up visits.
