Essential Qualifications and Experience
Candidates must meet the following minimum requirements:
- Educational Qualifications: An M.Sc. / B.Tech degree in one of the following fields:
- Biotechnology
- Computational Biology
- Bio-Statistics
- Experience: A minimum of one year of experience in any of the following:
- Scientific project work / in the field of Biotechnology OR
- Artificial Intelligence (AI) / Machine Learning (ML)
Note on Experience Relaxation: The experience requirement may be relaxed for Ph.D. candidates specializing in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or Computational Biology.
Job Description and Responsibilities
Young Professionals will be required to provide high-quality inputs in specific areas assigned by the Division Head. Key responsibilities include:
- Collection, compilation, tabulation, and dissemination of information related to ongoing research projects.
- Conducting Socio-Economic Impact Analysis of research projects.
- Providing essential administrative support for project-related work.
- Organizing meetings, workshops, and related events.
Terms and Conditions
Allowances and Perquisites
- The monthly remuneration of Rs. 40,000/- is fixed and all-inclusive.
- No TA/DA will be admissible for joining or completing the assignment.
- No other allowances or perquisites, such as accommodation, residential phone, conveyance, foreign travel, personal staff, or medical reimbursement, will be provided.
Leave Entitlement
- Young Professionals are eligible for 8 days of leave in a calendar year on a pro-rata basis.
- Absence beyond the 8 days will result in no remuneration for the excess period.
- Un-availed leave cannot be carried forward to the next calendar year.
Confidentiality
- Appointees will be subject to the provisions of the Indian Officials Secrets Act, 1923.
- They must not divulge any gathered information to unauthorized persons.
- Publishing or contributing to media (newspapers, periodicals, etc.) requires the prior written approval of the DBT.
Termination of Agreement
The contract may be terminated by the Department under conditions including, but not limited to: inability to address assigned works, unsatisfactory quality of work, failure to meet timely milestones, or violations of honesty, integrity, or the confidentiality clause.

Selection Process
The selection procedure involves:
- Invitation of applications by the Establishment Division based on the requirements submitted by various Divisions.
- Screening and shortlisting of candidates.
- Calling selected candidates for document verification.
- Issuance of the offer of appointment if documents are found in order.
- Selected candidates must provide integrity certificates from two known references and a self-undertaking confirming no criminal record or pending criminal cases.
- Consent to the offer must be given within 15 days of the e-mail.
- A maximum of 30 days is given for joining from the date of the offer e-mail, with extensions possible in exceptional cases.
