PGIMER Hiring Research Scientist for Antimicrobial Resistance Research

The Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh, a leading institution in medical education and research, is conducting a recruitment drive for a contractual position under a major national research project.

Applications are invited for the role of Project Research Scientist – I to work on a vital project focused on tackling the global threat of Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR). The project is funded by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), New Delhi.

Project and Supervision Details

Project Title: “Nodal Center for Antimicrobial Resistance Research and Surveillance Network to Support Secondary Hospitals.”
Objective: To establish and run a nodal center dedicated to research and surveillance of Antimicrobial Resistance, particularly providing support to secondary healthcare institutions.
Supervision: The project is led by Dr. Neelam Taneja, Professor and Head, Department of Medical Microbiology, PGIMER, Chandigarh.

Age Limit: Maximum age is 35 Years.
Consolidated Remuneration: As per ICMR rules.

Qualification Requirements

Essential Qualification: First Class Post Graduate Degree (including integrated PG degrees) OR PhD in a relevant subject (e.g., Microbiology, Biotechnology, Life Sciences, etc.).
Desirable Experience: Candidates with practical, hands-on experience in advanced molecular techniques such as MALDI-TOF, PCR, and handling of Clinical Samples will be strongly preferred.
