Ministry of AYUSH Seeks M.Pharm/M.Sc. Consultants (Pharmacognosy) for Pune Research Institute

The Regional Ayurveda Research Institute (RARI), located in Kothrud, Pune, and operating under the Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences (CCRAS), Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India, has announced a walk-in interview for the contractual position of Consultant (Pharmacognosy). This initiative is aimed at recruiting qualified scientific personnel to advance research in Ayurvedic sciences.

Vacancy and Compensation Details

RARI is looking to fill two vacancies for the Consultant position, which are currently operating against the vacant posts of one Research Officer (Pharmacognosy) and one Assistant Research Officer (Pharmacognosy).

Designation: Consultant (Pharmacognosy)
Number of Posts: 02
Monthly Consolidated Remuneration: ₹50,000/-
Contract Duration: Initially six (6) months, with potential for extension based on satisfactory performance.

Eligibility Requirements

The position is open to highly qualified candidates with advanced degrees in specialized fields of pharmacy and botany.

Criteria	Details
Essential Education	Master’s Degree in one of the following from a recognized University/Institution: M. Pharm. (Pharmacognosy), M. Pharm. (Ayurveda), M.Sc. Medicinal Plants, or Master’s Degree in Botany.
Essential Experience	Three (3) years of Research or Teaching experience at the Bachelor level following the completion of the Post-Graduate Degree.
Age Limit	Not exceeding 64 years as of the date of the interview.
Desirable Qualifications	Research publications and specific work experience in NABL, Pharmacognosy, or Botany laboratories.

Special Remuneration for Retired Government Officers

For retired Group A & B Government Officers engaged as Consultants, the remuneration will be calculated as a fixed monthly amount derived by deducting the basic pension from the pay drawn at the time of retirement.

The recruitment is purely contractual, and selected candidates will have no claim for permanent or regular appointment.

Contract Terms: Consultants engaged through the open market may be eligible for a 3% annual increment in remuneration after the satisfactory completion of a minimum of one year, subject to performance review.
