Research Career Opportunity Project Associate-I in Cancer Genomics and Extracellular Vesicles at NIBMG

The National Institute of Biomedical Genomics (NIBMG), Kalyani, an autonomous institution under the Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India, is a premier center dedicated to research, translation, and training in biomedical genomics.

NIBMG is seeking highly motivated and bright individuals for the following purely temporary position under an externally funded project:

Organization: National Institute of Biomedical Genomics (NIBMG), Kalyani.
Project Title: Coagulation factor activated factor X promotes the release of extracellular vesicles from human metastatic colorectal cancer (CRC) cells: contribution to CRC Pathogenesis.
Principal Investigator (PI): Dr. Kaushik Das.
Funding Agency: Anusandhan National Research Foundation (A-NRF).

🧬 Project Description

This project delves into the intriguing mechanisms by which the clotting proteases, specifically activated factor X (FXa), influence the release of Extracellular Vesicles (EVs) from metastatic Colorectal Cancer (CRC) cells. The research aims to understand the contribution of these EVs to CRC pathogenesis, including the promotion of proliferation, metastasis, angiogenesis, immune evasion, and therapeutic resistance.

The Project Associate will utilize advanced approaches like proteomics, transcriptomics, lipidomics, or metabolomics to detect the driving factor(s) within the EVs, potentially leading to the development of novel therapeutic strategies targeting EV-mediated CRC progression.

💰 Consolidated Remuneration (Per Month)

The selected candidate will be offered consolidated remuneration plus 24% HRA, based on eligibility criteria:

₹31,000/- + 24% HRA: For candidates selected through a National Eligibility Test (NET) such as CSIR-UGC NET (including Lectureship/Assistant Professorship), GATE, or other National-level examinations conducted by Central Government Departments/Agencies.
₹25,000/- + 24% HRA: For other candidates who do not qualify under category (i).

✅ Essential and Desirable Qualifications

Essential Qualification	Post Graduate Degree in Natural Sciences OR a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Technology, or Medicine from a recognized University or equivalent.
Age Limit	Not exceeding 35 years as on the last date of application.
Desirable Qualification	Hands-on experience in cell culture, basics of molecular biology, and cell biology.
