Research Opportunity Junior Research Assistant Position for Bronchiectasis & Periodontitis Research at KGMU

Project Title: Immunomodulatory role of B cell-stimulatory cytokines BlyS and APRIL in Periodontitis and periodontally affected Bronchiectasis patients (Project ID 5375).
Funding Agency: Council of Science and Technology, U.P. (CST-UP).
Principal Investigator (PI): Dr. Abhaya Gupta, Assistant Professor, Department of Periodontology, King George’s Medical University (KGMU), U.P., Lucknow.
Research Focus: This project offers an exciting opportunity to explore the complex immunological cross-talk between periodontitis and bronchiectasis, focusing on the role of B cell-stimulatory cytokines BlyS and APRIL. The successful candidate will be involved in advanced molecular biology and immunological techniques relevant to disease pathogenesis.

Duration	Initial appointment for one year, extendable yearly based on performance, for a total project duration of 3 years.
Nature of Post	Purely temporary and co-terminous with the project duration. The post does not confer any right to regular KGMU appointment.
Location	Department of Periodontology, King George’s Medical University (KGMU), U.P., Lucknow.

💰 Emoluments (Consolidated Fellowship)

The selected candidate will receive a fixed, consolidated fellowship as follows:

First 2 Years: ₹25,000/- per month
Third Year: ₹28,000/- per month

✅ Eligibility and Qualifications

Category	Requirement
Essential Qualification	Master’s Degree (M.Sc.) in Life Sciences / Biotechnology or any other equivalent degree from a recognized University, with First Class in both graduate and post-graduate courses.
Desirable Qualification	Demonstrated experience in relevant Molecular Biology Techniques is highly preferred.
Age Limit	Not exceeding 28 years as on April 1st, 2025.
Residency (Mandatory)	Only Indian citizens who are residents of Uttar Pradesh are eligible for this CST-UP funded Research Assistantship.
