The Health Department of Virudhunagar District has announced vacancies for Pharmacists to staff the newly established Primary Health Centers at Sembatti (Aruppukkottai area) and Ilupbaiyur (Narikudi area). 2. Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualifications:

Higher Secondary (12th): Must have passed with Science subjects.
Pharmacy Degree: Must have completed D.Pharm (Diploma in Pharmacy) or B.Pharm (Bachelor of Pharmacy) from a recognized institution.
Registration: Mandatory valid registration with the Tamil Nadu Pharmacy Council.

Age Limit:

Maximum 40 years as of the date of application.

3. Roles and Responsibilities

Pharmacists at a Primary Health Center play a critical role in rural healthcare:

Dispensing: Providing prescribed medications to outpatients.
Inventory Management: Maintaining stocks of essential life-saving drugs and vaccines (Cold Chain management).
Counseling: Explaining dosage and side effects to patients who may have limited health literacy.
Record Keeping: Maintaining the “Pharmacy Register” and tracking narcotics or psychotropic substances if applicable.

4. Selection Process

Selection for these posts will be conducted through a Personal Interview.

Shortlisting: Candidates will be screened based on their educational marks and proximity to the local area.
Interview: Candidates will be assessed on their knowledge of pharmacology, local health schemes, and pharmacy laws.
