The Institute of Nano Science and Technology (INST), Mohali, an autonomous institution of the Department of Science and Technology (DST), is inviting applications for a high-level research position. This ICMR-funded project focuses on cutting-edge nanotechnology for cataract therapy.
Project Details
- Post Name: Project Research Scientist-II (Non-Medical)
- Project Title: Noninvasive and in situ forming peptide-polymer hydrogel containing CPP decorated nanoparticles/photoresponsive agents with crystallin aggregates disaggregating propensity for potential cataract therapy.
- Principal Investigator: Dr. Jiban Jyoti Panda (Scientist-E)
- Fellowship: ₹67,000/- per month + HRA as applicable.
Eligibility & Experience
Essential Qualifications
- Post Graduate Degree (including integrated PG degrees) with three years of post-qualification experience.
- OR Ph.D. in Engineering or Technology.
Desirable Experience
- 2 to 3 years of R&D experience in Industrial or Academic Institutions.
- Background in Science and Technology organizations with a focus on scientific services.
Age Limit
- Maximum 40 years as of 28/01/2026 (Relaxation applicable as per Govt. of India rules).
Terms and Career Scope
The project explores peptide-polymer hydrogels and nanoparticles designed to disaggregate crystallin proteins—the primary cause of cataracts. This is a significant opportunity for researchers interested in nanomedicine and ophthalmic drug delivery.
- Duration: Initially for one year; renewable based on performance until project completion.
