This project, funded by the Department of Biotechnology (DBT), focuses on the scientific validation of traditional Naga fermented meat, offering a rare intersection between food technology, microbiology, and pharmaceutical analysis.

Project Focus: “Ashikumna/Thevochie”

The research aims to apply scientific rigor to Nagaland’s traditional fermented meat products. For a Pharmacy or Food Tech graduate, this involves:

• Nutritional Profiling: Analyzing the chemical composition and bioactive compounds.
• Microbial Safety: Identifying beneficial probiotics versus potential pathogens.
• Standardization: Developing technological interventions to scale up production while maintaining traditional quality.

Eligibility Criteria

• Essential: B.Pharm, B.Sc Food Technology, B.V.Sc, or a Master’s Degree in Sciences.
• Desirable: 2 years of work experience in a relevant field, computer proficiency, and familiarity with the local language.
• Age Limit: Relaxations apply for SC/ST/OBC as per Government of India norms.
