CSIR-CIMAP Bengaluru Announces New Research Openings for Science Graduates and PhDs

The CSIR-Central Institute of Medicinal and Aromatic Plants (CSIR-CIMAP) is looking for dynamic researchers to join its Research Centre in Bengaluru. These positions are part of various sponsored projects focused on natural product chemistry, plant taxonomy, and yeast biology.

Eligible candidates are invited for a Walk-in-Interview on 24th March 2026.

Project Associate-I/IIYeast Biology/BiotechM.Sc. in Biochem, Microbio, Biotech, or Life Sciences.
Senior Project AssociateBiological SciencesPhD in Biological Sciences OR M.Sc. with 3 years R&D experience.

Remuneration & Benefits

The fellowship amount varies based on national-level qualifications (NET/GATE):

  • Project Associate-I: Up to ₹31,000 + HRA.
  • Project Associate-II: Up to ₹35,000 + HRA.
  • Senior Project Associate: ₹42,000 + HRA.

Note: Candidates without NET/GATE are eligible for a slightly lower monthly stipend.


Interview Logistics

  • Date: 24th March 2026
  • Reporting Time: 09:00 AM
  • Location: CSIR-CIMAP Research Centre, Bengaluru.
  • Checklist: Bring a signed Bio-Data, original certificates, a set of self-attested photocopies, and a passport-size photo.

Crucial Information

  • Age Limit: 35 years for Project Associates; 40 years for Senior Project Associates (Relaxations apply per GoI rules).
  • Eligibility: Final semester/result-awaited students cannot apply.
  • Duration: Initially for 1 year, extendable based on project tenure and performance.
