
The Department of Pharmaceutical Engineering & Technology at IIT (BHU), Varanasi, is inviting applications for a Junior Research Fellow (JRF) position. This role is part of a high-impact project funded by the Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF) focused on “theranostic” (therapy + diagnostic) solutions for Alzheimer’s Disease.

Eligibility Criteria
- Essential Qualification: * B.Pharm degree is mandatory.
- First Class in M.Pharm / M.S.(Pharm.) / M.Tech(Pharm) or M.Tech in Medicinal Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Process Chemistry, Natural Product Chemistry, Pharmacology, or Biotechnology.
- Must have qualified GPAT, GATE, CSIR-NET, or an equivalent national examination.
- Note: Final semester students are eligible to apply but must provide proof of qualification if selected.
- Desirable Expertise: * Experience in multi-step synthetic organic chemistry.
- Proficiency in cell biology experiments and animal handling.
- Age Limit: * Maximum 28 years (Relaxation applicable for SC/ST/OBC/Physically Handicapped as per Govt. of India rules).
Project Scope
The research focuses on creating Near-Infrared (NIR) Fluorescent Probes. These probes are designed to simultaneously track (diagnostic) and treat (therapeutic) Alzheimer’s by targeting:
- Amyloid β Aggregates: Protein clumps that disrupt cell function in the brain.
- Cholinesterases: Enzymes involved in the breakdown of neurotransmitters.
