IMTech Research Associate-I Recruitment 2026

The Institute of Microbial Technology (IMTech), a premier laboratory under the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), is inviting applications for a Research Associate-I (RA-I) position. This opportunity is part of the high-impact project, “Phenome India-CSIR health cohort knowledge base.”


Position Details

  • Post Name: Research Associate-I (RA-I)
  • Number of Vacancies: 01
  • Project Title: Phenome India-CSIR health cohort knowledge base (HCP-047)
  • Monthly Emoluments: Rs. 58,000/- + HRA

Eligibility Criteria

  • Essential Qualification: * Ph.D./MD/MS/MDS or equivalent degree.
    • OR 3 years of research, teaching, design, and development experience after M.Pharma/MVSc/ME/M.Tech.
    • Publication: At least one research paper in a Science Citation Indexed (SCI) journal is mandatory.
  • Desirable Qualification: * Ph.D. in Microbiology or allied subjects.
    • Experience in handling, identifying, and preserving microbes.
    • Skills in metagenomics, data analysis, and molecular biology techniques (DNA isolation, PCR, etc.).

Age Limit & Relaxations

  • Upper Age Limit: As per CSIR/Govt. norms.
  • Relaxations: * 5 years for SC/ST/PwBD/Women candidates.
    • 3 years for OBC candidates.

Important Notes

  1. Result Awaited: Candidates currently awaiting their final results are not eligible to apply.
  2. Language: In the event of any dispute regarding the advertisement, the English version will be considered final.
  3. Last Date to Apply: April 28, 2026.
