The CSIR-Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine (CSIR-IIIM), Jammu, a premier national laboratory, is seeking a motivated Project Associate-I to join its drug discovery team. This role is part of a high-impact project funded by the DST-ANRF, specifically focusing on the preclinical development of new therapeutic candidates targeting one of the most critical pathways in cancer biology.
The Mission: Targeting the Wnt Signaling Pathway
The research, under project GAP-3159, aims to develop preclinical candidates by inhibiting the Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway. Since this pathway plays a central role in cell growth and stem cell maintenance, its dysregulation is a major driver of various malignancies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drug Screening: Conducting high-throughput assays to identify small molecules that disrupt cancer signaling.
- Cell Biology: Maintaining complex cell cultures and performing molecular biology techniques like PCR and Western Blotting.
- Preclinical Validation: Assisting in animal handling and in vivo studies to test the safety and efficacy of potential drugs.
