IIT Kharagpur has announced a prestigious recruitment drive for the position of Research Associate (RA) to work on a cutting-edge project sponsored by the Directorate of Futuristic Technology Management (DFTM), under the DRDO, Ministry of Defence.
While the project is hosted by the Department of Civil Engineering, the eligibility criteria specifically invite Pharmacy professionals (M.Pharm) with research experience, as well as Ph.D. holders, to contribute to advanced simulation technologies.
Project Details & Scope
The project, titled “An SPH-based Parallel Solver (Software) for Simulating 2-D Mechanical Response under Impact Load,” focuses on improving the accuracy and time complexity of mechanical response simulations using Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics (SPH).
Key Recruitment Highlights
- Position: Research Associate (RA)
- Monthly Stipend: Up to Rs. 58,000 (Consolidated, based on experience).
- Duration: 36 Months or project termination.
- Age Limit: 35 years (Relaxation applicable as per sponsor rules).

Eligibility Criteria
To qualify, candidates must possess one of the following:
- Ph.D./MD/MS or an equivalent degree.
- M.Pharm/ME/M.Tech/MVSc with at least 3 years of experience in research, teaching, or design and development.
- Publication: At least one research paper in a Science Citation Indexed (SCI) journal is mandatory for post-graduates.
Desirable Skills
Preference will be given to candidates with:
- Experience in particle-based modeling (SPH, Peridynamics).
- Programming skills in C or C++.
