BIRAC serves as the operational engine managing the Program Management Unit (PMU) to oversee, guide, and implement national biotechnology initiatives. Job Overview and Terms of Engagement

- Tenure: Initial engagement for 6 months, extendable based on project requirements and satisfactory performance
- Remuneration: Consolidated monthly fee ranging between Rs. 30,000 and Rs. 50,000, determined by the candidate’s qualifications and experience as per BIRAC’s internal Young Professional policy
- Upper Age Limit: 30 years as on the application closing date
Educational Qualifications and Experience
- Essential Qualifications: Master’s degree in any branch of Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Regulatory Sciences, Pharmacy (M.Pharm), Public Policy, or an equivalent discipline from a recognized institution.
- Desirable Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Regulatory Sciences, Pharmacy, or Public Policy.
- Alternatively, a minimum of 2 years of post-qualification experience in regulatory affairs or policy research related to biotech products across government organizations, regulatory bodies, research institutes, or industry.
- Proven track record in compiling scientific publications, white papers, concept notes, and policy briefs.
- Hands-on proficiency in statistical tools, analytical data interpretation, and standard MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Roles & Key Responsibilities
The Young Professional assigned to the RAPA division will actively support innovators navigating approval pipelines and work on initiatives impacting startups and SMEs:
- Coordinate and facilitate core initiatives such as FIRST Hub and the REFINE program.
- Plan and assist in organizing regulatory awareness workshops, capacity-building sessions, and national stakeholder consultations.
- Conduct extensive regulatory and market research, draft policy briefs, maintain domain databases, and prepare analytical presentations.
- Liaise with central government departments, national regulatory agencies, academic bodies, and industry experts for streamlined project execution.
