Applications have been invited by St. John’s Research Institute (SJRI)—a part of the St. John’s National Academy of Health Sciences run by the CBCI Society for Medical Education—for a Project Research Scientist-I (Non-Medical) position under the ICMR BLUE-SHOCK trial project.
Project & Role Summary
- Post Name: Project Research Scientist -I (Non Medical) – ICMR BLUE SHOCK Trial Project.
- Number of Vacancies: One.
- Monthly Salary: Rs. 72,800/- p.m.
- Project Focus: The BLUE-SHOCK trial is a single-centre, prospective, randomized, open-label, blinded outcome assessment (PROBE), parallel-group controlled trial investigating the early use of adjunctive intravenous methylene blue for adult patients meeting Sepsis-3 criteria for septic shock.
- Age Limit: 35 years.
- Tentative Date of Joining: 15th October 2026.
Key Responsibilities
- Overall day-to-day scientific and operational management of the trial, including screening ICU admissions, maintaining logs, and coordinating the informed consent process.
- Implementing randomization and allocation concealment procedures, safeguarding allocation records, and supervising study intervention administration.
- Coordinating advanced hemodynamic monitoring, serial ABG/lactate sampling, and biomarker (IL-6, procalcitonin) collection, storage, and assay scheduling.
- Supervising Project Technical Support–III staff, ensuring timely CRF completion, database design and management, data quality control, and periodic audits.
- Recording, documenting, and reporting adverse and serious adverse events to the PI and Institutional Ethics Committee, while maintaining regulatory, ethics, and trial master file documents.
- Assisting in training ICU staff, preparing manuscripts, conference presentations, progress reports for ICMR, and coordinating statistical analyses.
Qualifications & Eligibility
- Essential Qualifications:
- First Class post-graduate degree (including integrated PG degree) in Life Sciences / Biotechnology / Microbiology / Biochemistry / Pharmacology / Clinical Research / Public Health or an allied discipline from a recognized university; OR
- Second Class post-graduate degree, including an integrated post-graduate degree, with a Doctorate degree (Ph.D.) in a relevant subject from a recognized university.
- Desirable Qualifications:
- Ph.D. or M.Phil. in a relevant subject, or a post-graduate qualification in clinical research/epidemiology.
- GCP (Good Clinical Practice) and ICMR National Ethical Guidelines certification.
- Working knowledge of biostatistics, statistical software (SPSS / R / STATA), and electronic data capture systems (REDCap or equivalent).
- Prior publications in peer-reviewed journals.
