The Biotechnology Industry Research Assistance Council (BIRAC)—a Public Sector Undertaking of the Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India—has been entrusted with implementing the program and houses the Program Management Unit (PMU) to oversee and monitor program execution. BIRAC has announced an opening for a Senior Technical Manager position.
Position Details & Requirements
- Position: Senior Technical Manager (01 post)
- Position Code: STM-01
- Duration: Purely temporary on a contractual basis and co-terminus with the project (currently up to March 2027).
- Consolidated Remuneration: Between Rs. 1,10,000/- to Rs. 3,00,000/- lump sum per month, depending on qualification and experience.
- Essential Qualifications: Ph.D. or equivalent in Life Sciences, Biological Sciences, Biotechnology, Biomedical Sciences, or allied areas.
- Experience: 10–12 years of post-qualification experience in academic, research, industry, government, or similar positions, with relevant expertise in infectious diseases, vaccines, host–pathogen interactions, biotechnology, translational research, or scientific program management.
- Age Limit: 40 years as on the closing date of applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the implementation of Ind-CEPI programs for vaccine development and epidemic preparedness.
- Conduct scientific and technical evaluation of proposals, vaccine candidates, technologies, and development programs.
- Coordinate scientific reviews, assessments, and project monitoring with national and international experts.
- Manage and monitor multi-institutional grants and projects, tracking technical progress, milestones, deliverables, outcomes, and risks.
- Prepare RFPs, technical documents, project reviews, and program recommendations.
- Facilitate academia–industry partnerships, technology development, and capacity building for epidemic preparedness.
