
The Institute of Liver and Biliary Sciences (ILBS) has invited applications for project positions under the ICMR-sanctioned extramural research project entitled “Fecal Microbiota Transplantation as a Non-Pharmacological Treatment for Alcohol Use Disorder in Early Alcohol-Associated Liver Disease: A Multi-centre, Triple-blind, Randomized Controlled Trial” led by Dr. Mohit Kumar Varshney, Associate Professor, Department of Psychiatry, ILBS.
Available Positions & Requirements
1. Project Research Scientist-II (Non-Medical)
- Number of Posts: 01 (UR)
- Emoluments: Rs. 67,000 + HRA @ 30% = Rs. 87,100 per month
- Upper Age Limit: 40 years
- Essential Qualifications: First Class Post Graduate degree (including integrated PG degrees) in Life Sciences, Microbiology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, or Genetics with 3 years of experience, or a Ph.D. in the above subjects; OR a Second Class Post Graduate degree in the above subjects with a Ph.D. and 3 years of experience.
- Desirable Qualifications: Experience in microbiome sequencing and bioinformatic analysis, authorship of standard operating procedures, regulatory and quality documentation for clinical trials, and peer-reviewed journal publications.
2. Project Technical Support-III (Trial Coordinator)
- Number of Posts: 01 (UR)
- Emoluments: Rs. 28,000 + HRA @ 30% = Rs. 36,400 per month
- Upper Age Limit: 35 years
- Essential Qualifications: Three-year Graduate degree in Life Sciences, Nursing, Allied Health Sciences, or Psychology from a recognized university plus 3 years of experience; OR a Master’s degree in the above subjects.
- Desirable Qualifications: Experience in coordinating clinical trials (preferably multi-centre), electronic data capture and query management, Good Clinical Practice training, and knowledge of computer applications and data management.
3. Project Technical Support-III (FMT Preparation and Batch Quality Control)
- Number of Posts: 01 (UR)
- Emoluments: Rs. 28,000 + HRA @ 30% = Rs. 36,400 per month
- Upper Age Limit: 35 years
- Essential Qualifications: Three-year Graduate degree in Life Sciences with specialization in Microbiology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, or Zoology from a recognized university plus 3 years of experience; OR a Master’s degree in the above subjects.
- Desirable Qualifications: Hands-on experience in anaerobic microbiological techniques (using Class II Biological Safety Cabinet and anaerobic workstation), stool and biological sample processing, cryopreservation, cold-chain maintenance (−80°C storage, dry-ice shipment, temperature loggers), donor/sample screening protocols (C. difficile toxin EIA, ESBL/CRE/MRSA selective culture), molecular biology techniques (DNA extraction, PCR for 16S rRNA sample prep), and maintaining lab logbooks/SOP-based documentation in a GCP or biobank-compliant environment.
