
The National Institute of Animal Biotechnology (NIAB), an autonomous institute under the Department of Biotechnology, Government of India, is inviting applications for a DBT-BBSRC funded Indo-UK research project. The project is titled “The contribution of cross-species innate immune responses to the host control of Q-fever.” Two positions are open for this project: one Senior Project Associate and one Technical Assistant.
Senior Project Associate
- Number of Posts: 1
- Essential Qualification:
- A Doctoral Degree in Science, Engineering, Technology, Pharma, MD, or MS from a recognized university.
- OR a Master’s Degree in Natural/Agricultural Sciences/MVSc with four years of experience in research and development.
- Fellowship: The fellowship amount is ₹42,000 per month + 27% HRA, which totals ₹53,340 per month.
- Age Limit: The upper age limit is 40 years. Age relaxation is applicable for SC/ST/OBC candidates as per government rules.
- Desirable Experience: Candidates with experience in cell culture, immunological techniques, and vaccine adjuvant research are preferred. NET/GATE qualified candidates will also be given preference.
- Tenure: Initially for one year, likely to be extended based on performance and co-terminus with the project duration (July 2028).
Technical Assistant
- Number of Posts: 1
- Essential Qualification: A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Biology, Biotechnology, or a relevant discipline.
- Fellowship: The fellowship amount is ₹20,000 per month + 27% HRA.
- Age Limit: The upper age limit is 50 years. Age relaxation is applicable for SC/ST/OBC candidates as per government rules.
- Desirable Experience: Experience in cell culture, immunological techniques, adjuvant chemistry, and animal handling (especially mice or goats) is desirable.
- Tenure: Initially for one year, likely to be extended based on performance and co-terminus with the project duration (July 2028).
