Educational Qualifications
- Essential Qualification: Graduate degree in Life Sciences or an allied basic-science discipline relevant to biomedical research from a recognized university or institution. Eligible fields include Biology, Botany, Zoology, Microbiology, Genetics, Bioinformatics, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Physiology, Pharmacology, Biotechnology, Immunology, Toxicology, Virology, Nutrition, Entomology, or other relevant life-science disciplines.
- Desirable Qualifications:
- Postgraduate qualification in a relevant life-science or biomedical discipline.
- At least one year of relevant experience in biomedical, laboratory, public-health, clinical, or health-research work.
- Experience in literature searching, scientific evidence synthesis, data extraction, research documentation, and technical report/presentation preparation.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, scientific databases, and reference-management software.
- Prior experience in tuberculosis, infectious-disease, or communicable-disease research (including coordination of investigators, expert committees, review meetings, or multicentre projects) is an added advantage.
Scope of Work & Nature of Duties
Selected candidates will be responsible for:
- Providing scientific and technical support for the appraisal, initiation, implementation, monitoring, and documentation of research proposals and projects under the ICMR TB Research Accelerator.
- Conducting literature searches on tuberculosis and preparing evidence summaries, data-extraction tables, scientific briefs, and background notes.
- Maintaining proposal and project trackers, as well as compiling and verifying project objectives, milestones, timelines, deliverables, budgets, and progress reports.
- Supporting the preparation of agendas, minutes, expert-committee documents, reviewer records, and action-taken reports.
- Coordinating with principal investigators, institutions, subject experts, ICMR institutes, and internal divisions for timely project submissions and reviews.
- Assisting with basic data cleaning, descriptive summaries, quality checks, program-monitoring outputs, and secure maintenance of research records.
Period of Engagement & Terms
- Duration: Initially engaged for one year, which can be extended for up to two more years (one year at a time) depending on organizational requirements and satisfactory performance. The total duration will not exceed three years.
- Nature of Appointment: Temporary and contractual, conferring no right to regular appointment or absorption in ICMR or any government organization.
