Opportunities for M.Pharm, MSc at Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology

CSIR-Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology, Hyderabad (CSIR-CCMB), a top-tier research institute under the Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR), operates as an autonomous entity under the Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India. Renowned for its cutting-edge research, it conducts high-caliber basic research and training across diverse fields of modern biology, while exploring practical applications of its findings.

Applications are invited from eligible Indian nationals for temporary roles on a contractual basis as outlined below.

Principal – PAT

  • Total Positions: 01
  • Monthly Emoluments: ₹49,000 + HRA
  • Upper Age Limit: 40 years
  • Post Code/Positions/Area: 010725B – 01 role – Coordinating scientific events, training sessions, skill workshops, and industry partnerships for training and job placement
  • Project Code/Title: HCP002502 – CSIR Integrated Skill Initiative
  • Essential Qualification:
    • Master’s/Integrated Master’s in Natural, Agricultural, or Pharmaceutical Sciences/MVSc/Animal Sciences, OR Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Technology, or Medicine from a recognized university or equivalent; AND
    • 6 years of experience in Research and Development in industrial/academic settings, science and technology organizations, or scientific activities and services.
  • Desirable/Job Description: Proven expertise in managing and delivering technical (Life Sciences) training and skill development programs.
  • Name of PI: Dr. Archana Bharadwaj Siva
  • Project Duration: 31st March 2030

Junior Research Fellow (Project JRF)

  • Total Positions: 01
  • Upper Age Limit: 35 years
  • Monthly Emoluments: ₹37,000 + HRA
  • Post Code/Positions/Area: 020725B – 01 role – Biology
  • Project Code/Title: GAP000662 – Exploring new mitotic regulatory pathways in neurodevelopment and megalencephaly pathophysiology
  • Essential Qualification:
    • M.Sc in Biological Sciences from a recognized university or equivalent; AND
    • Selected via processes like CSIR-UGC NET (including lectureship/Assistant Professorship), GATE, or national-level exams by Central Government bodies (e.g., DST, DBT, DAE, DOS, DRDO, MoE, ICAR, ICMR, IIT, IISc, IISER, NISER).
  • Desirable/Job Description: Familiarity with zebrafish as a model system.
  • Name of PI: Dr. Megha Kumar
  • Project Duration: 08th June 2028

Project Technical Support-III (PTS-III)

  • Total Positions: 02
  • Upper Age Limit: 35 years
  • Monthly Emoluments: ₹28,000/- p.m. + HRA
  • Post Code/Positions/Area: 030725B – 02 roles – Parasitology, Cell Biology, Protein Chemistry
  • Project Code/Title & Duration: GAP000654 – Studying the roles and chemotherapeutic potential of the DNA-protein crosslink repair pathway in malaria parasites (duration: 22nd Feb 2026)
  • Essential Qualification: M.Sc or equivalent degree in biological sciences, OR 4-year graduate degree.
  • Desirable/Job Description: Practical skills in cell culture, gene cloning, recombinant protein expression, and purification.
  • Name of PI: Dr. Puran S Sijwali
  • Project Duration: 22nd Feb 2026

General Terms and Conditions

  1. How to Apply: Eligible candidates should submit the online application form via the designated link.
  2. Number of Posts: The Director, CCMB, may adjust the number of positions or cancel the recruitment process at any stage, with the decision being final.
  3. Age Relaxation: As per CSIR/Government of India guidelines, calculated on the last date of online application submission.
  4. Awaiting Result/Pursuing Degree: Candidates awaiting results or pursuing degrees (e.g., M.Sc./B.Tech./PhD) as of the application date are not eligible.
  5. Eligibility Criterion: Failure to meet eligibility criteria will result in candidature cancellation at any stage.
  6. Experience: Experience is reckoned from the date of obtaining the minimum required educational qualifications.
  7. Screening of Applications: Applicants will be shortlisted by CCMB scientists/designated committee based on current needs, with shortlisted candidates listed on the CCMB website.
  8. Selection Procedure: Shortlisted candidates must attend an in-person/online interview with the Selection Committee, with details communicated via email.
  9. Result/Waitlisted Panel: Interview performance will determine selected candidates, with results posted on the CCMB website. A merit-based waitlist, valid for one year, may be used for future needs.
  10. Engagement: Initially short-term, extendable or terminable based on performance and funding, but not exceeding the project tenure (max 5 years across CSIR projects). No claim for permanent employment.
  11. Leave: No regular leave entitlement; one day per completed month permitted.
  12. TA/DA: Not provided for tests/interviews or joining.
  13. Office Timings: Duties to be performed from 9:30 AM to 6:00 PM on working days, with potential work on weekends/holidays if needed.
  14. Tax Deduction: Applicable taxes will be deducted at source.
  15. Confidentiality: IPR of data/deliverables remains with CCMB; no disclosure without written consent.
  16. Termination: Engagement may be terminated with one-month notice by either party, subject to performance reviews.
  17. Disclaimer: Candidates must confirm eligibility; misrepresentation leads to rejection at any stage.
  18. Disqualification: Canvassing or influence will lead to disqualification.
