BITS Pilani, Goa Campus, Seeks Project Associate for Computational Biology Research

BITS Pilani, K. K. Birla Goa Campus is currently accepting applications for a Project Associate I position. The role is part of a research project sponsored by the Department of Biotechnology (DBT), bringing together the expertise of the Departments of Biological Sciences and Computer Science and Information Systems.

About the Research Project

The research project is titled “Developing Predictive Models for ‘druglikeness’ of small molecules.” The selected candidate will contribute to advanced research in Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, and In Silico Drug Design, applying computational tools and AI to predict the properties of small molecules, a critical step in drug discovery. The project has a long-term duration, running from 2022 to 2027.

Position Details & Qualifications

Post: Project Associate I
Principal Investigator: Raviprasad Aduri
Compensation: The position offers a fellowship of ₹31,000 per month plus an additional 8% House Rent Allowance (HRA) for candidates who have qualified for GATE or NET.
Essential Qualifications: A Post Graduate Degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Bioinformatics, or Computational Biology, with a strong academic record.
Preference: Candidates with a valid GATE/NET qualification and practical experience in applying AI tools to biological or chemical systems will be given preference.
Accommodation: Hostel accommodation may be provided to the selected candidate, subject to availability and Institute rules.
