The Regional Ayurveda Research Institute (RARI), Thiruvananthapuram, is conducting a walk-in interview for the post of Consultant (Life Sciences) on a contractual basis. The position is part of a collaborative project with the Rajiv Gandhi Centre for Biotechnology (RGCB), entitled “Understanding Prakriti and its inheritance pattern in health and predominant disease predisposition from a regional perspective- A genetic and epigenetic study.”

In the second year, the remuneration will be ₹ 50,000/- + 3% increment.

1. Post Graduate Degree (1st class) in Life Science or Computational Biology OR B.Tech/Bachelor’s Degree in Medicine from a recognized University. AND 2. At least four years of post-M.Sc. or three years of post-B.Tech experience. OR 3. Doctoral Degree in Science / Engineering / Technology from a recognized University or equivalent.
1. Experience in both wet lab and dry lab (Bioinformatics, Genome informatics, NGS data handling, and Statistical analysis). 2. Experience in programming in Python or R. 3. At least one PubMed indexed research article in the genomics field.
Not exceeding 65 years as on 26.11.2025 (Age relaxation as per Govt. of India norms).

General Conditions
Tenure: Initially for a period of six months, which is co-terminus with the project and subject to extension/curtailment based on performance.
Nature of Post: Purely on a contractual basis. The engagement does not confer any right to claim continuation or regular appointment.
