
The National Health Systems Resource Centre (NHSRC), acting on behalf of the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare (MoHFW), has invited applications for the position of Consultant (National Urban Health Mission). This high-impact role is designed to strengthen healthcare delivery for India’s urban poor and vulnerable populations.
Role Overview & Scope
The selected candidate will provide technical and managerial support at the central level, working closely with various states and Urban Local Bodies (ULBs). The position is contractual for one year, with a three-month probation period and the possibility of extension based on performance.
Key Requirements
- Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy (B.Pharma), Medicine (MBBS/BAMS/BDS), Nursing, or relevant Sciences, plus a Post-Graduate degree in MPH, MBA (Healthcare), or M.Sc (Epidemiology/Statistics).
- Experience: A minimum of 3 years in health systems strengthening or public health program implementation.
- Technical Skills: Mandatory proficiency in MS Excel (Dashboarding) and PowerPoint. Experience with health data platforms like HMIS or U-WIN is highly preferred.
- Age Limit: Maximum 45 years.
Remuneration and Location
The fee ranges from ₹60,000 to ₹1,20,000 per month, depending on the candidate’s qualifications and experience. While the base is New Delhi, the role involves significant travel across the country for field monitoring and supportive supervision.

- Assisting states in refining Urban Health implementation strategies.
- Reviewing State Programme Implementation Plans (PIPs).
- Conducting monitoring visits and field-level supervision.
- Developing capacity-building frameworks for urban health personnel.
