NIPGR Research Vacancy: Research Associate-I in Biotechnology & Bioinformatics

The National Institute of Plant Genome Research (NIPGR), New Delhi, is inviting applications for a Research Associate-I position. This role is part of a high-impact DBT Multi-institutional project focused on revitalizing the cultivation of Large Cardamom (Amomum subulatum Roxb.) through biotechnological interventions.

Position Details

Designation: Research Associate-I (01 Post)
Project Title: Biotechnological interventions for revitalizing sustainable large cardamom cultivation.
Supervising Scientist: Dr. Debasis Chattopadhyay, Director, NIPGR.
Remuneration: ₹58,000/- + 27% HRA per month (as per DBT/DST norms).

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualifications

Ph.D. in Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, Bioinformatics, or a related field.
OR M.Tech in Biotechnology/Bioinformatics with at least three years of research experience and at least one relevant research publication (as per DST norms).

Preferred Technical Skills

Expertise in Computational Biology, including genome assembly and annotation.
Experience with GWAS (Genome-Wide Association Studies) analysis.
Proven track record with at least one first-author publication in an SCI journal (Impact Factor > 3).
Desirable: Proficiency in Python, R, and Linux operating systems.
