
The MGIMO University, in collaboration with the Gorchakov Fund and the Presidential Grants Foundation, is officially inviting applications for the InteRussia 2026 Spring Fellowship. This prestigious short-term research programme is designed for rising professionals in international relations, political science, and area studies.
Fellowship Theme & Research Goal
The 2026 spring cycle focuses on a critical contemporary dialogue:
“Security, Science and Technology: Governance of Change in the Turbulent World”
Selected fellows are required to produce an original individual research project (20,000–35,000 characters) based on their submitted proposal. This project will be developed under the direct academic guidance of leading Russian scholars from MGIMO University.
Eligibility Criteria
To be considered for the fellowship, applicants must meet the following profile:
- Status: Non-Russian PhD students or Postdocs.
- Age: 25–39 years old.
- Residency: Must be living outside of Russia at the time of application.
- Background: Aspiring experts in history, theory/practice of international relations, and political science.

Selection Criteria & Application Process
Admission to the programme is highly competitive and based on a comprehensive review of the following:

- Public Engagement: Opinion pieces, media commentary, or previous grants.
