The Institute of Life Sciences (ILS), Bhubaneswar, an autonomous organization under the Department of Biotechnology (DBT), is seeking highly qualified Indian Nationals for a prestigious project role. This position is part of a national-level mission focusing on rare pediatric genetic disorders.

Position Overview

Technical Scope & Nature of Work

The selected candidate will contribute to advanced genomic research. Key responsibilities include:

• Genome Editing: Utilizing Zebrafish models as a primary tool for genetic studies.
• Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS): Library preparation, sequencing, and complex data analysis.
• Assays: Conducting various cell-based assays to understand genetic variations.
• Scientific Communication: Writing reports, preparing presentations, and manuscript drafting.

Eligibility Criteria

1. Essential Qualifications

• Master’s Degree (1st Class) in Life Sciences or allied subjects / Bachelor’s in Medicine with 4 years of R&D experience in industry or academia.
• OR a Ph.D. (Doctoral Degree) in Science, Engineering, Technology, Pharma, MD, or MS.

2. Desirable Skills

• Hands-on experience in Molecular Biology, Developmental Biology, Cell Biology, Genomics, or Bioinformatics.

3. Age Limit

• Upper Age Limit: 40 Years (as of 27.01.2026).
• Relaxation available as per Government of India norms.
